I know that this post may seem like common sense but unfortunately, especially during this time of year, women end up victimized. Just because the holiday season is among us can we become lax in our vigilance for our safety.
Please if you must take a purse, guard it. With today’s technology all you need is your cell and a debit/credit card to shop. Wear a hoodie or jacket that has pockets on the inside and keep your valuables there. If you have large items and place them in your car, please drop your packages at home or at the very least drive to another parking space.
Leave your children at home during holiday shopping trips. If you must take them then keep your hands and eyes on them at all time. Do not send them to the rest room by themselves, do not let them view toys by themselves while you shop.
Lastly, always watch your surroundings if someone or something looks suspicious contact security or the police. If you large vans parked next to your vehicle, or something otherwise suspicious ask security to accompany you to your car.
